The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party had placed a virus on the system, encrypting data and viewing certain sensitive patient information. True Dental conducted a comprehensive review of the impacted data to determine what information was compromised and identified affected individuals. On April 2, 2025, True Dental filed a notice of the incident with the Office for Civil Rights and began sending notice letters to the impacted individuals.
