What Happened?

On or around January 8, 2025, RKA Consulting discovered suspicious activity within its systems. The company immediately disconnected the affected systems, launched an investigation, and retained independent computer forensic experts to assist. On February 25, 2025, the investigation determined that an unauthorized individual gained access to RKA Consulting’s systems for a limited period and may have accessed certain files. After a detailed review, which was completed on September 23, 2025, RKA Consulting confirmed that some of these files contained personal information of individuals who had worked with the firm on engineering projects. On October 27, 2025, RKA Consulting Group’s filed notice with the California Attorney General and began mailing notification letters to affected individuals.

What Information Was Impacted?

Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal information may have been compromised:
  • Name;
  • Date of birth; and
  • Social Security number.
