What Happened?

In November 2024, OrthoMinds became aware of a potential security incident within its network environment. Upon detection, OrthoMinds launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party may have accessed files and folders stored on certain databases between November 17 and November 27, 2024, and potentially accessed sensitive personal information and protected health information. OrthoMinds conducted a comprehensive review of the impacted data to determine what information was compromised and identified affected individuals. On March 20, 2025, OrthoMinds filed a notice with the Maine Attorney General’s office and started sending out notice letters to the individuals.

What Information Was Impacted?

Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal and protected health information may have been compromised:

  • Date of birth,
  • Payment card information,
  • Medical information, and
  • Health insurance information
