What Happened?

On October 25, 2024, Georgia Urology became aware of a security incident on its employee email accounts. Upon detection, Georgia Urology launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cyber security experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party gained access to certain patient information through these compromised email accounts. Georgia Urology conducted a comprehensive review of the impacted data to determine what information was compromised and identified affected individuals. On March 5, 2025, Georgia Urology identified persons whose sensitive data was included in the impacted data. On March 27, 2025, Georgia Urology made a public disclosure and started sending out notice letters to the impacted individuals.

What Information Was Impacted?

Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal and protected health information may have been compromised:

  • Driver’s license numbers,

  • Health insurance information, and
