If you recently received a letter or an email from Farmers Insurance Exchange and Farmers Group, Inc. What Happened?

On May 30, 2025, Farmers became aware of a security incident on its third-party vendor’s system. Upon detection, Farmers launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cyber security experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party gained access to a vendor database containing Farmers’ customer information. On July 24, 2025, Farmers identified persons whose sensitive data was included in the impacted data. On August 22, 2025, Farmers filed a notice with the Attorney General of Maine and began sending out notice letters to impacted individuals.

What Information Was Impacted?

Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal information may have been compromised:
  • Names;
  • Addresses;
  • Dates of birth;
  • Last four digits of Social Security number; and
  • Driver’s license numbers.
