On August 31, 2023, Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center experienced a cybersecurity incident that disrupted network operations. By September 6, 2023, it was determined that certain systems had been accessed by unauthorized individuals. While initial notifications were sent out on November 1, 2023, a continued review of affected network locations revealed on January 27, 2025, that additional sensitive data had also been accessed or acquired during the August 2023 incident. On April 14, 2025, the breach was disclosed to the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office.
