What Happened?

Cetera identified suspicious activity involving a single employee email account. In response, Cetera promptly initiated an investigation, engaging independent cybersecurity experts to assess the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation revealed that an unauthorized individual accessed the email account during the period from July 7, 2025, through August 21, 2025.

Following this discovery, Cetera undertook a detailed review of the affected data to determine what information may have been compromised and to identify impacted individuals. On or around January 30, 2026, Cetera confirmed that certain sensitive data was involved in the incident.

Subsequently, on March 25, 2026, Cetera reported the incident to the New Hampshire Attorney General and began issuing notification letters to affected individuals.

What Information Was Impacted?

Based on current information, at least the following categories of sensitive personal information may have been involved:
    • Names;
    • Social Security numbers;
    • Driver’s license numbers; and
    • Financial account information.
