What Happened?

On or around March 3, 2025, Central Texas Pediatric Orthopedics became aware of a security incident involving its IT systems. Upon detection, CTPO launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party, identified as the Qilin ransomware group, gained access to CTPO’s systems and exfiltrated sensitive personal and health information. CTPO is still assessing the full impact of the data breach. On March 6, 2025, CTPO issued a notice of public disclosure of the data breach with the Texas Attorney General's Office.

What Information Was Impacted?

Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal information may have been compromised:

  • Government-issued ID number (e.g., passport, state ID card),

  • Health Insurance Information, and
  • Date of Birth
