What Is This About?

If you recently received a letter or an email from Central Jersey Medical Center (“CJMC”) informing you that your sensitive personal and protected health information was compromised in a data breach, we would like to speak with you about your rights and potential legal remedies. Central Jersey Medical Center recently disclosed that it was the victim of a data breach that exposed individuals’ sensitive personal and protected health information.

What Happened?

On August 25, 2025, an external threat actor gained unauthorized access to CJMC’s dental server network and installed ransomware to successfully encrypt files on the network. Upon learning of the attack, CJMC launched an investigation to secure its network and to determine the scope and nature of the incident. The investigation revealed that the unauthorized party may have accessed and/or acquired sensitive personal and protected health information during the breach. CJMC initiated a data review to identify affected individuals and determine what information had been compromised. CJMC reports that its electronic medical (as opposed to dental) record system was not accessed or otherwise involved in the incident. On or around October 23, 2025, a breach notification was posted to the CJMC website, and CJMC began notifying affected individuals.

What Information Was Impacted?

Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal and protected health information may have been compromised:
  • Name;
  • Social Security number;
  • Demographic information (date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, race or ethnicity);
  • Dental record number;
