What Happened?

On April 11, 2024, the Center for Digestive Health detected suspicious activity within its IT network. Upon detection, Center for Digestive Health launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party had accessed and acquired certain files and data stored within Center for Digestive Health's network. Upon learning this, Center for Digestive Health conducted a review of the potentially affected data to identify the individuals and information involved. On January 22, 2025, Center for Digestive Health identified persons whose personal health information was included within the impacted data. On February 25, 2025, the Center for Digestive Health began mailing notice letters to impacted individuals. On March 6, 2025, the Center for Digestive Health disclosed the breach to the Maine Attorney General’s office.

Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal information may have been compromised:
