Upon discovery, Cedarcrest quickly secured the compromised email account and launched an investigation with the assistance of a third-party forensic cybersecurity firm. The investigation determined that an unauthorized individual accessed the employee’s email account between October 24, 2024, and December 31, 2024. Cedarcrest conducted a comprehensive review of the impacted emails to determine what information was compromised and identified affected individuals. On April 11, 2025, Cedarcrest publicly disclosed the breach and began notifying impacted individuals.
