What Happened?

On January 26, 2025, Cabot Medical Care discovered a network disruption, which was determined to be the result of unauthorized access to certain files on its computer network. Upon discovering the suspicious activity, CMC immediately initiated an investigation and engaged independent cybersecurity experts to determine the scope and nature of the incident. The investigation concluded that between January 25 and January 26, 2025, unauthorized individuals gained access to specific files. After a thorough review of the affected files, completed in March 2025, CMC confirmed that sensitive personal and protected health information may have been exposed. On April 10, 2025. CMC filed a notice with the Massachusetts Attorney General's office and started sending out notice letters to the impacted individuals.

What Information Was Impacted?

Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal information may have been compromised:
  • Name,
  • Date of birth,
  • Social Security number,
  • Diagnosis or treatment information, and/or
  • Other health-related information
