What Happened?

On August 9, 2024, AOD Federal Credit Union became aware of a security incident on its network. Upon detection, AODFCU launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party gained access to sensitive data stored in AODFCU’s systems between August 8 and August 9, 2024. AODFCU conducted a comprehensive review of the impacted data to determine what information was compromised and identified affected individuals. On March 4, 2025, AODFCU identified persons whose sensitive data was included in the impacted data. On March 28, 2025, AODFCU filed a notice with the Texas Attorney General and began sending out notice letters to the impacted individuals on March 25, 2025.

What Information Was Impacted?

Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal information may have been compromised:
  • Name,
  • Social Security number,
  • Driver’s license number, and
  • Financial information (e.g., account number, credit or debit card number)
