Interior Federal Credit Union recently disclosed that it was affected by a data breach involving its third-party vendor, Marquis Software Solutions, which exposed individuals’ sensitive personal information.

What Happened?

On August 14, 2025, Marquis Software Solutions, a vendor that provides digital and physical marketing services to Interior Federal Credit Union, detected suspicious activity on its network. Marquis determined it was the victim of a ransomware attack after an unauthorized third party accessed its network through a SonicWall firewall. The breach was limited to Marquis’ systems; Interior Federal Credit Union’s internal systems were not directly compromised. A forensic investigation revealed that files containing sensitive personal information provided by business customers—including Interior Federal Credit Union—may have been accessed and acquired by the unauthorized party. Marquis notified its affected business customers in November 2025 and began coordinating with them to notify impacted individuals and appropriate regulatory authorities. As of the latest disclosures, 696 members of Interior Federal Credit Union were affected across several states.
