What Happened?

On March 24, 2025, Pulse Urgent Care Center became aware of suspicious activity within its network, which was later confirmed to be a ransomware attack orchestrated by the MEDUSA group. Upon detection, Pulse launched an investigation with the assistance of a third-party cybersecurity and forensic firm to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party gained access to the organization’s systems and deployed malicious software, compromising the security of the network and patient data.On or about April 9, 2025, MEDUSA, a well-known ransomware group, claimed responsibility for the attack and stated they obtained approximately 60.70 GB of data. Pulse conducted a comprehensive review of the impacted data to determine what information was compromised and identify affected individuals. According to the notice posted on its website, Pulse first learned that some patient information may have been accessed during the breach on May 1, 2025. On June 27, 2025, Pulse Urgent Care Center disclosed the incident publicly on its website and committed to sending out notification letters to impacted patients once the review process is complete.

Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal and protected health information may have been compromised:
  • Patient names;
  • Dates of Birth;
  • Home addresses;
  • Phone numbers;
  • Treatment details, including dates, reasons, and diagnoses; and
  • Other similar medical information or records.
