What Happened?

On September 2, 2025, DraftKings Inc. became aware of a security incident involving unauthorized access to customer accounts. Upon detection, DraftKings launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. According to DraftKings’ notice to affected residents of Massachusetts, the investigation has to date not produced evidence that the attacker breached DraftKings’ systems. The investigation did determine, however, that "by stealing login credentials from a non-DraftKings source and using them in this attack, however, the bad actor may have temporarily been able to log into certain DraftKings customers' accounts.”On October 2, 2025, DraftKings began sending out notice letters to the impacted individuals and filed a notice with the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

What Information Was Impacted?

Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal information may have been compromised:
  • Name;
  • Address;
  • Date of Birth;
  • Phone Number;
  • Email Address;
  • Last Four Digits of Payment Card;
  • Profile Photo;
  • Information About Prior Transactions;
  • Account Balance; and
  • Date Password Was Last Changed.
